In year two of our girls program, SouthShore teams raised the bar on their expectations and worked hard to meet the new challenges set before them. Throughout the summer players saw an increase in the level of competition faced and the girls demonstrated significant strength by grasping every learning experience firmly with both hands and capitalizing on the valuable growth opportunities each game presented in order to realize a considerable amount of success. Our coaching staff couldn't be more proud of their efforts and we are thankful for the incredible passion and dedication they have for our program, their respective teams, and each other.
The 2016-2017 SouthShore teams have a lot to be proud of and they reached many noteworthy and outstanding milestones this summer. The 2020 team became our program’s first high school squad finishing their inaugural year with an impressive 15-3 record and taking the top spot in many of their divisions. In their final weekend of the summer at a competitive Grind tournament, they reached the championship game making a strong statement for what’s to come from this team.
In their last year as a youth team, the 2021 team started the season off with a bang winning five consecutive games in their first tournament weekend to reach the second round of playoffs. As a group they experienced tremendous growth with a challenging summer schedule and finished the 2017 campaign extremely eager to take their game to the next level, capturing their division’s top spot at The Grind and then showing tremendous grit and perseverance battling it out with some of the most elite teams in the country at The MidAtlantic Championships in Maryland.
Paving a solid foundation for themselves as they approach their final year as a youth team, the 2022’s became increasingly stronger as a unit with each tournament this summer going head to head with a number of highly competitive teams and realizing a lot of success along the way. Putting forth one of their best team performances in a tough OT loss in the playoffs, they left nothing out there on the field when the final whistle blew for the season and have proven they will be a force to be reckoned with in years to come.
Having evolved from a combined squad last year, we couldn’t be more proud of what the 2023 team was able to achieve in year two. With a commitment to teamwork and dedication to putting the work in to grow as a team, the girls found success even when faced with adversity. Capping off a big developmental season being crowned The Grind Champions in their last tournament of the summer showed just how much heart they have and how hungry they are for more.
Finally, we are thrilled with the accomplishments we saw out of our 2024 team in just their first year in the program. An extremely enthusiastic and coachable group, they have really begun to come together as a team and experienced a lot of success as a result. We saw their understanding of the game grow tremendously over the season due to their hard work and an eagerness to learn and we look forward to their continued development over the next several years.
The 2016-2017 season served to fuel our excitement for year three of SouthShore Girls Lacrosse as we look to build off of the considerable progress our teams have made in their first two summers and continue to shape our program in a way that embodies our mission of teaching lacrosse through passion, experience and attention to detail. We can't wait to kick-off the 2017-2018 season at tryouts this week!
